Privacy
Halcyon is currently a waitlist. This notice explains what we collect when you join, why, and how to reach us. We aim to collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Your email address — when you save your spot at the “Build this” step, either typed directly or shared by Google if you choose Google sign-in.
- Approximate location — country, region, and city, derived from your IP address by our hosting and analytics providers. We use it only to understand roughly where interest is coming from.
- What you’re building — the kind of tool you ask Halcyon for (for example, a bot, dashboard, or alert) and which part of the site you came from.
- What you type in the build studio — to turn your description into a spec, the text you enter is sent to a third-party AI model provider that generates the result.
- How you use the site — product-analytics events such as pages viewed and actions taken (entering the studio, sending messages, sharing, saving your spot), collected via our analytics provider to improve the experience. These aren’t tied to your identity until you save your spot; after that they’re linked to your email so we can recognize you across visits.
- Error and diagnostic data — when something breaks, technical details about the error (such as the page and a stack trace) are sent to our analytics provider to help us fix bugs.
How we use it
We use this information to manage the waitlist, understand where interest is coming from, and contact you about access. It is forwarded to our internal tools for those purposes. We do not sell your personal information.
Who processes it
- Our hosting provider serves the site and provides the approximate-location lookup.
- Our analytics provider (PostHog) records usage and error/diagnostic events and derives approximate location from your IP. Events are pseudonymous until you save your spot, after which they’re associated with your email.
- Our AI model provider generates specs from what you type in the build studio.
- Google — only if you choose Google sign-in, in which case Google shares your email with us and its own privacy policy applies.
Cookies & tracking
We use PostHog for first-party product analytics — served through our own domain — to measure how the site is used; it stores a first-party ID in your browser (cookie / local storage) to recognize repeat visits. We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell your data. If you choose Google sign-in, Google’s sign-in script runs and is governed by Google’s policy.
Keeping it & your choices
We keep your details until the waitlist closes or you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. You can ask us to access or delete your information at any time — depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. To make a request, email privacy@runhalcyon.com.
